Review Hello, I Must Be Going! / Phil Collins:If you are considering divorcing a rock star, let Hello, I Must Be Going! serve as fair warning of what you're likely to face once the papers have been signed and the settlements made. Collins got the last word on sundering his relationship with first wife Jill (he actually addresses her by name on the album!) and managed to deliver it to millions of homes via this album, which contains one blistering diatribe after another: "I Don't Care Anymore", "I Cannot Believe It's True", "Do You Know, Do You Care?" and "It Don't Matter to Me". The mood is tempered a bit by a lively remake of the Supremes' "You Can't Hurry Love" and "Like China", a sprightly rocker celebrating new love. Yet as listenable and engaging as it is, Hello, I Must Be Going! has to be regarded as one of the angriest albums in mainstream rock history, which is great stuff, when you're in the mood for that sort of thing. -Daniel Durchholz.

Review Band on the Run: 25th Anniversary Edition [VINYL] / Paul McCartney:If Paul will be remembered for anything post-Beatles, it's this album. Even though he had to go all over creation to record it, the trip was obviously worthwhile, bringing forth gems like "Helen Wheels," "Jet," and the title track. Everything was in place, the melodies, the pop smarts, and a real studio production. The amazement was that Wings actually consisted of Paul and Linda with guitarist Denny Laine; Paul played most everything on the record. Review Mccartney [Us Import] / Paul Mccartney:Paul's first solo outing is very much a home-grown affair with him singing and playing everything (apart from a few harmonies by Linda). The expectations were high, and while not everything clicked, there was enough good stuff for the legend to continue. "That Would Be Something", "Man We Was Lonely", "The Lovely Linda" and "Teddy Boy" all make the grade, but everything is eclipsed by "Maybe I'm Amazed", which remains one of his most enduring songs, up there with anything the Beatles released (and which would have sounded quite at home on Let It Be). -Chris Nickson.

Review Greatest Hits [CASSETTE] / Cat Stevens:Before Cat Stevens changed his name to Yusef Islam, he had a slew of hits built around his soft, yet sometimes coarse, vocals. Stevens utilized a variety of instrumentation and rhythms in his predominantly acoustic arrangements, and songs like "Peace Train," and "Another Saturday Night" had a multi-cultural feel to them. Greatest Hits provides a decent overview of his more popular work, including the poignant "Oh Very Young" and "Father & Son. " Unfortunately, the delightful yet brief "Tea for the Tillerman" is not present. The lovely "Morning Has Broken" has elements of Stevens's growing concern with religion, philosophy, and the relationship between the cerebral and the spiritual. In the early 1980s, Stevens, now Yusef, "retired" from the music profession because of his new beliefs. -Steve Gdula.
